HELICOPTER TOURS FOR WEALTHY TOURISTS HAS BEEN STARTED, TARGET IS MILLION
It is expected that "the helicopter tours" which were started in Antalya by the union of Medair and Calypso, will make a contribution to Turkish Tourism.
Etem Emre Yıldız, sales and marketing manager of Medair, emphasized that 10 minutes of helicopter tour costs 99 Euro and an hour tour costs 1.500 Euro. They expect 1 million Euro revenue for the first year.
Medair, which is a part of ESAS Corporation, has started helicopter tours aiming wealthy tourists with the collaboration of Calypso Helicopter. Tours which are started at the beginning of June and will last until the end of October according to demands are expected to be benefited mostly by the Russian Tourists. For the VIP tourists one Hour tour is 1500 Euro. Etem Emre Yıldız also announced that these tours will be beneficial to Turkish Tourism. This year they expect 1 million Euro revenue, in 2009 2 million Euro revenue.
Access to Kapadokya
Yıldız pointed out that in Turkey especially in Mediterranean area and in Antalya there is no helicopter that is why they have started this Project. Yıldız said "Besides flying over Antalya there will be transportation to Pamukkale and Cappadocia. We have 10 minutes tours and long distance tours in respect of demands. Wage of a helicopter with the capacity of 5 people is 500 Euro for an hour."
The Potential is Huge
Etem Emre Yıldız implied that they want to expend this investment to Mediterranean area in the future. He said "We are expecting this Project to depreciate itself this year. At present, Antalya has the capacity for 20 helicopters. We are trying to support Turkish Tourism. Our expectation in this season is 500 hours discharge. We can provide such services in İzmir according to demands."
The Number Can be Redoubled
The Project of Helicopter tour is performed with collaboration of Calypso which brings Russian Tourists to Turkey. Mustafa Kadiroğlu the organizer of Calypso Helicopter states that they are aiming to attract VIP tourists' attention by these tours. Currently they have 1 helicopter but if it is necessary they will have 2nd one. In helicopter tours monthly flight target is 100 hours at present..
Medair flought 1000 hours last year
Medair which was established in February 2006 has 3 helicopters in its fleet. It made 300 hours flight in 2006 and over 1000 in 2007. Esas holding has invested 10 million Euro to Medair so far. Medair has such services; air taxi, trips and tours, air ambulance and services for special days.
The first target is wealthy Russian
MUSTAFA Kadiroğlu, pointed out that they are the first in Turkey with these helicopter tours and he added "We are particularly looking for Russian tourists' attention. We are going to have tour services besides Medair transportation services. There is a huge increase in the tourist number coming from Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. We are close to these countries geographically and we have a lot of natural beauties."
